We are in Cortez, Colorado – talking to small business owners and other constituents about their feelings about the economy, bureaucratic red tape, and the willingness of their representatives to listen to them. A re-occurring theme has been the inaccessibility of the people who represent the third district of Colorado (Scott Tipton and his staff) – and although it is prevalent here in Colorado, I am quite sure that other communities may feel the same.

To all our representatives up there at the federal level, I just want to let you know that the American people are tired of the double-speak and ready for some common-sense solutions. And if your political party is making you stand in line and walk lock-step with unconstitutional and anti-free-market legislation and political objectives, get out of it. It is time to truly represent the people that elected you.
*******
I see so many faces, I hear so many stories – so many good people who have been sold out by our representatives who had the knowledge to foresee these problems, and frankly, are getting paid really good money to solve them.
*******
Where are you Representative Tipton?
*******
My patience with this is at an all-time low. The people that I visit with are people in my own generation who have an extremely bleak outlook on finding a job (much less pursuing a career), even though their parents sacrificed everything to put them through college so that they could better themselves and their lives. The people I see are the parents and grandparents who put all of their spending money into their home or their retirement, and are now not able to sell their home for what they paid for it, and are not able to retire, because that money is gone.
*******
Where are you Representative Tipton?

I pray that these people who have done this will take some time to actually listen to these stories and these people – because these people are the American people, and I am not sure who the Republicans and Democrats are representing right now, but they would be well-served to unlock their congressional offices and watch the tears fall from the people who have elected them to represent them. I certainly am, and I forever will – these are my people, and they come before any party.
*******
I am here and making a commitment to be here for people – regardless of political party, regardless of income, regardless of any barrier that has been put up to stop us from uniting on principal.
