The past week has been an interesting encounter with the vitriolic nature of politics that would stop any ‘good’ or ‘normal’ person from ever trying to run for a federal office. It has also been a fine reminder of exactly why I have decided to run Independent, since the Republican party in particular is out for blood – eating their own and making sure that their elite establishment power-over politicians stay in Washington, D.C.
I have been campaigning for several months now – continually building an amazing base of people who understand and believe that the federal government is out of control, that we have to stop the unconstitutional legislation coming out of Washington, and we must fix our debt, irresponsible spending, and unsound monetary policy. It has been an overwhelmingly positive response to our message of truth, transparency, accountability, and knowing the difference between right and wrong.
However, with these successes, we have obviously riled up the snakes in the den who absolutely hate an “outsider” and a “non-politician” from being a part of the political make-up. And because of this, their attacks this early on signal an unrelenting race ahead – where I will be criticized and lambasted for issues that are irrelevant to the greatest challenges that we face – our economy and our civil rights.
It is painful to see the anger and hate towards a young female who is attempting to have a voice in a very complex political economy – this is what I get for “stepping up” and engaging in the political process. May it be a warning to all who wish to live in a free country – one where we have some fidelity to the Constitution and ability to build prosperity for ourselves and future generations.
