No Longer About Republican (R) & Democrat (D) – It is About Good (G) and Bad (B)

It has become apparent that there is no difference between these two parties and what they are doing for our country’s people.  The high-level, high-power politicians, of both political parties, for a long time – are corrupt, are making money off of distorting the American economy, and are members of a kleptocracy that is bankrupting all of us, especially the next generation.

Take a look at this: “The Video Congress Does Not Want You To See” from Government Gone Wild.

So, I have decided that I will no longer talk about or make judgments about anyone or any politician based off of political party affiliation – namely Republican and Democrat.  From now on, I will classify people as Good (G) or as Bad (B).  If people are good they engage in actions that help others and protect others’ natural rights.  If people are bad, they engage in actions that hurt others or erode others’ natural rights.

It is that simple.  Be sure to look for the (G) and the (B) behind our representatives’ names.  This is the type of dialogue we need to have with each other, as fellow Americans.  We MUST stop this fighting with each other based on political party affiliation.  The fighting is what they want and what divides us.  If we want to have any type of peace or prosperity in our own lives and communities, then it is absolutely necessary that we stop labeling people based off of their political party, and instead look at their character.

Use your good judgment when you vote and when you choose a representative.

YAL National Convention – Days 31 through 36

Meeting Ron Paul at the YAL National Convention was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Ron Paul is not only an outstanding representative, but also a fine human being and strong soul.

I am officially back in Colorado and have had an outstanding week of meeting the next generation of leaders from around the country.  At the YAL National Convention in Arlington, we had five intense days talking about the liberty movement, the upcoming election, and how each of us plays a role in forwarding the message and philosophy of limited government, personal responsibility, and liberty.

Some highlights from those five days of training and two days of travel:

1. Ron Paul 2012 – It is apparent that a strong group of independent-thinking  young people understand the implications of having the Republican party nominate a candidate who is truly representative of our Constitution, as well as a candidate who is NOT a part of the two-party political machine that is not afraid to stand up to the tactics of the establishment.

2. Activism – When people use the first amendment to express themselves, it is beautiful.  When people use the first amendment to express themselves and to NOT try and infringe upon others’ rights, but instead use their speak/plight to encourage others to become more self-reliant, responsible, and free – it is prophetic.  Sometimes activism can get a bad wrap because it is used to intimidate others into compliance; when activism is used to help others to free their minds and become an individual it is divine.

3. Being Nice – Unbelievably (or perhaps not), whenever we travel, we are able to make judgements and assessments about our fellow men and women who have different frameworks and different foundations than our own.  You don’t have to travel outside of the country – you can go even 50 miles and be encompassed by another culture.  In riding in planes, trains, cars, shuttles, and old-fashioned walking by foot, I was reminded of a simple principle that could go really far for most of us.  Be nice.  Be nice to others because we are all in this together, and even if you are having a bad day, remember that other people may be trying to pick you up, so be nice to them.  And smile, because it is not that bad.

Day 30 – Arrival in Arlington, Virginia for the YAL Convention

Today, I left from DIA about 7:25AM to come to Arlington for the Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) Convention taking place this week.  It is going to be absolutely great to meet with liberty-minded students from around the country!

I told the TSA people that I did NOT want to go into the high-powered scanner and waited almost 10 minutes while a female TSA agent was found to do the “pat-down”.  In the heat of the moment of having every piece of me groped, I started to cry.  It is really quite sad that we are at this point of having to do this type of thing to our own citizens.  If you take some time to watch everyone, as people go through those scanners that can see a everything or having someone feel you up (and granted some of the agents doing this have no ill-intent at all, this is their job), you may just find a place in your heart that feels like perhaps this is not necessary.  Maybe even wrong.

We all do what we have to do to “get by” and to “survive”, however, our founding fathers, and the men and women who have fought, worked so hard, and died for this FREE country, would slap us upside the head.  Look around you.

To the week!

Day 29 – City Efficiencies & Red Tape

Today, we were up north for a Denver Gourmet Food Truck event (that was absolutely delicious).  We drove around looking at the economic development taking place in the city, which is at a much larger scale and at a greater rate than in southern Colorado.  There are many variables that go into that, and this post isn’t to talk about the difference.  This is to talk about how people can survive without government bureaucracy protecting them from everything.

If you will recall, I mentioned that we would have the opportunity to see if the world would go on if a government department shut down.  We are at at least three weeks into this test and I am happy to report that the world is still spinning.  Wait to you find out about what I am talking about.

In talking to these Food Truck Renegades, we were happy to hear that our event would be easy and fun for them to attend because of the limited red tape involved with our venue.  When businesses have the opportunity to make money, they will.  My own small business was privy to this – if my local Pueblo City Council would have allowed me to just run my farmers’ market, rather than fight me all the way with excessive rules and regulations (that the city-run markets did NOT have to follow), then I could have brought several thousand dollars into the community.  But they fought me, and I couldn’t.

As a candidate and future congresswoman, it is my responsibility to listen to the plight of small business owners and actually do something about it – not just pay lip service to the problems.  As a fellow small business owner, I can relate to others who have to work through this red tape – just to make it.  We will change this.

Day 28 – QUOTE: Ron Paul, Taxes, & Inflation

“Strictly speaking, it probably is not “necessary” for the federal government to tax anyone directly; it could simply print the money it needs. However, that would be too bold a stroke, for it would then be obvious to all what kind of counterfeiting operation the government is running. The present system combining taxation and inflation is akin to watering the milk; too much water and the people catch on.” – Ron Paul
