Why the GOP (at least in Colorado) is Doomed – Day 18

On July 7th, 2011, I traveled an additional 80 miles to go to an El Paso County Republican Party meeting to support a fellow liberty-lover.  Sarah Anderson, who has recently been elected secretary for the El Paso County GOP, is being ridiculed for speaking out against “the establishment” (a Republican Party member that is not following the Constitution).  Sarah is 22 years old, a young female who has worked on campaigns since she was nine, and one of the brightest people I have met concerning the liberty-movement.

*****

I also represent the next generation of leaders – I am running for congressional district three in Colorado.  The reason I am running as an Independent is for the same reasons that Ms. Anderson is being chastised.  Instead of doing what these “good ole boys” want us do (which is shut up, sit down, and stand in line), we have decided that the Republican Party should actually stand for what it says it is standing for.  Apparently, when you do this – you are no longer welcome.

*****

Tonight, I arrived about 15 minutes early and already saw people standing in line outside of the building.  Once reaching these folks, I realized that the meeting inside had apparently reached their “45-person capacity” (even though a Republican citizen there said that they had allowed many more people in for a different event and there was a sign on the door that said the seating capacity was 75).  We stood in line, and it started to rain.  No real word from anyone “on the inside” about what was going on – we were told that “they had reached capacity”, and we were to stay waiting outside.  An apparently off-duty sheriff was at the door to make sure we stayed there.  There were several precinct chairs and other leadership that seemed upset.

*****

The meeting started at 5:30 – and we waited – in the rain until about 6:00.  There was no communication from the inside.  I asked politely if I could use the restroom, and was allowed inside the building – upon arriving I was grilled for what I was doing in there (responding that I needed to use the facilities) – and to my surprise there was a very large space that looked like a waiting room.  That sure would have been nice for the 40 or so people who were outside getting poured on.

*****

At this point, sensing no chance of actually showing my support for Ms. Anderson through the meeting inside, I left.  As I walked across the parking lot, I saw some people putting up a 10×10 tent as an after-thought for the people who were already drenched outside – nothing like putting your supporters, donors, and volunteers under a lightening rod during a lightening storm.  It is a sign.

*****

You see, the people who were locked out were THE PEOPLE – those that were allowed in – this sacred executive committee with reserved parking places near the door that were shuffled in while we stand outside being rained upon – those people consider themselves leaders.  In fact, they are fools – they are ignorant of the fact that a huge faction of people is starting to get sick of their treatment of people who actually believe in the Constitution, that actually have to work to make ends meet, and that actually are the voters who will become independent and support representatives that don’t act like snotty better-than-you elitists, and that don’t have their head up their anal cavity.  How the establishment has treated Ms. Anderson, and how the establishment has treated myself and many other young patriots – is a sure-telling sign of the election year to come.

Faith & Love, Take 1 (Day 16)

Over the Holiday weekend I frequented a Catholic church that is one of many that I have went to over the years.  I watched as these wonderful people gathered, shook hands, bode each other good wishes, shared in the sacraments, and continued on their journey for the rest of the week.  It was magical.
What is so neat about people going to church?  Have you ever really contemplated faith?  In the Bible it talks about having faith the size of a mustard seed – which is puny – but think about how much power that really has behind it.  You see, faith is an all or nothing thing – if you want to have faith, then you just can’t have any fear.  Worrying is human, however, if you really want to fight the negativity – then you can’t worry, you “gotta have faith”.

My observance of people, including those who are close to me, also leads me to believe that most people are loving, giving, and caring souls.  Driving down the Interstate every day may make one think otherwise.  However, there truly are more “good people” than bad – and it is love and forgiveness that helps us move forward in a proactive and positive light.

If you attend a church or if you don’t – try to reach out to your neighbors and get to know them – more and more we are secluding ourselves and sitting in front of a television set – this is unhealthy and not doing anything great for our communities and country.  Engage with people – you may be surprised about what experiences you are missing out on.

The Beauty of I (Day 15)

Is that an “I” or a “1″?  It doesn’t matter because it is the same thing.

Each of us, as individuals with a something called FREE WILL, get to make choices every day that affect our lives.  We have the opportunity to decide what we consume, what we listen to, what we watch, and most importantly – how we feel.  I, as one, make these choices – and it has impacts on my family, friends, community, and country.  One is ‘just one’, but that is all we have.  As I have talked about before – a mighty storm is made up of billions of small particles.

Independence Day is around the corner.  It is an important day because of its significance in history for the United States, it is also a moment in time when we can remember and take advantage of the positive forces within each of us to enjoy and cherish our liberty – our individuality – our one-ness with ourselves and with our fellow man.

This will be a “living” post, I will add on to it as we go through our journey.  I am inspired to help people discover how they, in their own individual choices, can make huge positive impacts on their quality of life.  It all starts with a single step.

Support Sarah – Our Next Generation of True Leaders

There is a young woman who is making a real stand for liberty in El Paso County, Colorado.  Her name is Sarah Marie Anderson, she is 22-years-old and self-educated on F.A. Hayek and Ludwig von Mises.  She started working on campaigns when she was 9 years old.  She loves liberty more than anything else – and she also understands that true liberty means breaking away from some of the messages and actions of the old-guard GOP.

I learned about Sarah from the Colorado Springs Independent, “This past February, at the meeting of the county GOP’s central committee, she was elected party secretary in a decisive victory over party stalwart Holly Williams, wife of County Clerk and Recorder Wayne Williams“.  WE THE PEOPLE must have wanted some new leadership and some youth at that.

After reading her story, I was able to speak with her and was captivated by her energy and desire to do something great for liberty within the GOP, which can at times be extremely corrupt and ‘backwards’ at best.  I know that is why I decided to run as an Independent in my own district, because I have already been told to sit down and shut up by the GOP leadership at the local and state level.

Since she is holding the GOP’s feet to the fire, they are now trying to get rid of her as party secretary – that is where we need YOU.  If you can do anything to help support her cause, including attending the next GOP meeting where they are trying to oust her, please do.  It will be held on Thursday, July 7  from  5:30pm – 8:30pm at the El Paso County Republican HQ, and of course you can contact us as well as we will do what we can to get you the resources you need.

WE MUST SUPPORT THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS WHO WILL RESTORE THIS COUNTRY’S LIBERTY AND PROSPERITY.
