Casida Goes to Mesa County for a “Pot Luck to Buck the NDAA” Townhall
She will discuss the unconstitutional parts of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)

(Grand Junction, CO) Tisha Casida, Independent candidate for the 3rd Congressional District of Colorado, will travel through Garfield, Mesa, and Pitkin Counties this week to discuss the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the dangers of Sections 1021 and 1022 that leave open the possibility for American citizens to be detained indefinitely without due process.

“The fact that this was passed and signed into law with the consent of most of our representatives and without any real discussion with their constituency is an atrocity to the American people and to the people of our third congressional district,” says Casida.

All citizens and constituents are invited to come and participate at the event – held in Grand Junction on Thursday, January 26th at the Masonic Lodge (2400 Consistory Ct. – Grand Junction, CO 81501) from 5:00PM until 6:30PM. Casida will be discussing the importance of focusing on the NDAA and the dangers that the legislation presents to people who speak out against actions of Republicans and Democrats in Congress.

Casida says, “We need to work at local levels to empower people to protect each other – economically and socially – that is our greatest strength and our greatest means of creating a better quality of life for all of us.”  Solutions that Casida is presenting include County and State resolutions that can be adopted by local officials – making sure their citizens are still ensured due process and having local law enforcement as the use of force instead of the armed forces as authorized in the recently signed into law NDAA.

Casida, a small business owner, was inspired to run as an Independent in the third congressional district after seeing the events of the 2010 election as well as her own encounters with local, state, and federal government.
